Nowadays the world is more chaotic and unpredictable than at any other period in history. The unstable world is said to be the world, which is in the midst of the worst various social, economic and environmental challenges.
Besides this, Pandemic Coronavirus (Covid-19), climate change and terrorism are the major unbridled issues in the twenty-first century. Contrary to this, apprehensions about the future determine current status of the world. Someone rightly said,” Take care of the present and the future will take care of itself.” The modern world seems to be in a fluid state.
On the one hand, today is the age of globalization which interconnects one country to other and one region to other as well ; on the other, it faces a lot of problems which adversely change the image of world. From this point of view, the international institutions should find global solutions for global challenges not state centric solutions which are nominative solutions connected with different kinds of state.
Moreover, the pandemic Covid-19 is a burning issue which has badly affected the social, political and economic fabrics of the world. This pandemic caused havoc in the globalized world.
It got birth from Wuhan city of China in the end of 2019 and has spread throughout the world. Now-a-days, United States of America(USA), United kingdom(UK), Itlay, Russia and Spain are the most affected countries after World War1(ww1) and World War2(ww2), currently, It is considered a undeclared WorldWar3(ww3).
Moreover, Covid-19 severely jolts the human lives in the form of mass destruction. It had reached an alarming stage. In the same way, this archaic character has further worsened the situation of education system.
Education is considered the third eye of a man. It seems pertinent here to cite of an examples of the developed countries which have progressed by leaps and bounds after paying heed at education system. Where there is a high illiteracy rate, there is always deprivations of fundamental human rights, political instabilities and economic hurdles.
It must be realized that disturbance of world trade nothing but pulling down of economic pattern of the world. Owing to this, ban over transportation field has changed the image of global trade. If serious efforts are not taken to root this issue out, it will become a serious threat to the stable world.
Furthermore, climate change is a rampant for the world which has severely changed the shape of stable world. Basically, climate change is an erratic change in weather patterns, oceans and topography due to sun’s radiation, volcanoes, tsunamis and man-made appliances.
Deforestation, industrialization and volcanic eruptions are the major culprits in this regard.
In the same way, due to climate change, countries face food shortage, water scarcity, less agricultural production, dwindling economy, humanitarian crises, increasing unemployment, health issues, natural disasters, ecosystem deterioration, political instability and increase in mass departure.
The Germanwatch institute presented the results of the Global Climate Risk Index 2020 during the 25th Conference of the Parties (COP25) in Madrid. According to this analysis, based on the impacts of extreme weather events and the socio-economic losses they cause, Japan, the Philippines and Germany are the most affected places by climate change today.
Similarly, terrorism has wreaked havoc in the world. It is threatening the peace of the world. The 21st century saw the dawn of the war on terrorism, as the 9/11 attacks and the Boston Marathon bombing dramatically changed society.
Economic issues also moved to the forefront during the Great Recession as awareness of social inequality grew.
Wrong interpretation of religion, ill treatment of Third World Countries, improper treatment of Individual Development Plans(IDPs), poverty and economic deprivation are the major causes of promoting terrorism which harmfully impact over destruction of infrastructure, insecurity among peoples, declining tourism and also loss of lives.
The deadliest terror attacks of the 21st century, firstly, on September 11, 2001, 19 militants associated with the Islamic extremist group al-Qaeda hijacked four passenger planes operated by two major United States(US) air carriers and carried out suicide attacks against targets in the United States. Two of the planes were flown into the World Trade Centre (WTC) in New York.
Secondly, Beslan school siege. On September 1, 2004, armed Chechen rebels took approximately 1,200 children and adults hostage.
Lastly, on 16 December 2014, six gunmen affiliated with the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) conducted a terrorist attack on the Army Public School in the northwestern Pakistani city of Peshawar. The militants, all of whom were foreign nationals, comprising one Chechen, three Arabs and two Afghans, entered the school and opened fire on school staff and children, killing 149 people including 132 school children, ranging between eight and eighteen years of age making it the world’s fourth deadliest school massacre. By and large, hence, terrorism is a serious problem for today’s world.
All in all, it can be said that covid-19, climate change and abject terrorism are the burning questions of the day. These made world as an unstable world. The countries should take an effective effects to eradicate these evils from the society and make world as a stable world.
