Oshogbo was lit with excitement yesterday May 25th, during the 62nd birthday celebration of former Osun State governor Rauf Aregbesola.
The event which is always celebrated with a seminar popularly known as RAUFNOMICS, a colloquium organised to celebrate Ogbeni Raufu AregbesolA, which saw Mr. Adegboyega Oyetola, the State Governor was the Chief Host, was indeed educative and mind-blowing.
Ogbeni, as the former governor is fondly called rode on the event’s opportunity to speak about four major issues stopping the country from moving forward as a nation.
The first being every citizen taking it upon themselves to show responsible leadership at their various home, work, offices and positions. The second point he mentioned, was letting the world know that Nigeria and demands collective hard work and sacrifice to curb the poverty level that exists in it and make it into a rich state.
The third task needed to place the country on the level it sure deserves to be is to reduce the nation’s population. Ogbeni added that this fact is somewhat a matter of emergency.
The fourth task according to the former governor is that every citizen must demand their cards from the National Identity Management Commission so as to affirm that we Nigerians are here
The event which was packed full of dignitaries to include Enitan, the Oni Of Ife, Adegboyega Oyetola, the governor-elect of the state, amongst other dignitaries, was indeed a great one as the state’s indigenes turned out enamsse as well to show just how much Ogbeni is loved and regarded as a revolutionary leader.
