The Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party candidate,who was a former President,Alhaji Atiku Abubakar impressively recorded a great victory in Anambra State polling 487,550 votes to defeat President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress who scored 31,452 votes.
You will recall that the PDP vice presidential candidate, Peter Obi, is from Anambra State,this has really helped the duo this far.
The Results announced so far from 20 out of the 21 local government areas in the state show Mr Abubakar leading with about 456,098 votes, having won in all the LGAs.
Yesterday night Francis Otunta, who is the Vice-Chancellor of Michael Okpara University, announced the result from the 20th local government.
The results from the remaining local government – Idemili North – will not be announce yet because of the violence at Obosi which disrupted the collation of the results,where it was earlier reported that the Independent National Electoral Commission said results sheet was missing and Commissioner of Police in the State being call to order to provide a duplicate of results.
REPUBLICAN gathered that the Independent National Electoral Commission results sheet were retrieved from the police as enacted in schedule 1(6) of the regulations and guidelines for the conduct of elections to facilitate collation of results for the affected local government.
